Tropical Storm Fay - My Drive Home

Threw this post up real quick. Here’s some photos of my drive home during Tropical Storm Fay.  I’ve never been so happy to be driving a Jeep. Sorry about the quality it’s a Camera Phone.

I forgot about Bill Miller

Who’s Bill Miller you ask. He’s an American Indian Folk singer that I listened to many years back.

Earlier this evening I was watching “So You think You can Dance” with my girlfriend (the things we do for those we love :-? ) and their was an Ani DiFranco song that one of the dancers was dancing to and we got into a debate who was better her or Tori Amos  .  I of course was on Tori’s side.  She is the first crush I can remember from when I was kid.

But the reason I’m thinking about Bill Miller at 1:52am is he was Tori’s opening act at a concert I went to about 10 years ago and I was instant fan.  How often do you see an opening act get a standing ovation?

I even remember the first CD I bought of his.  I wasn’t smart of enough to buy a CD at the concert so I had to special order one.  I wasn’t into the internet at that point in my life so I had to find a little hole in the wall record store down by the university that would actually order the CD for me.  It was about a 5 hour process tracking down someone who would actually do this.

Somewhere along the path of life I lost the CD and completely forgot about him until tonight, and I just want to take the opportunity to share this great guitar player and folk singer with those who come across this page.  I won’t bore those of you not into Folk music especially American Indian Folk music so I put a clip on here most of you should enjoy.

ps.  watch his fingers starting at the 4:14 mark until 5:05 if you appreciate acoustic guitar you’ll love that.

Bill Millers Official Site If you want to more more about him I just found the site myself so I really haven’t explored it at all.

That’s enough for me tonight I have to try to get to sleep.
